Obama has changed his mind on almost as many occasions as McCain, but McCain's career vastly exceeds the length of Obamas, thus Obama changes his mind far more frequently.

As for propaganda, you've got to be kidding me... Obama is spending millions every month on advertising. You cannot watch TV for more than 20 minutes without seeing him. Nobody seems to care that most of his campaign contributions are from other countries (oh, and he originally promised not to accept such contributions by the way).

I live in canada, I haven't seen any campaign ads for either candidates, I've only seen their debates, and their speeches.

I think campaign contributions are bad no matter what, and I can understand obama accepting the contributions, how else would he pay for his campaign, running for president is very very expensive.

and I'm speaking recently, from the change of the primaries to the main campaign did mccain abandon everything he believed in.

This thread belongs in the Political Squabbles forum. Also, I haven't been watching much in terms of American politics, so I can't say for sure whether Obama is a good presidential cantidate, but I've only seen bits of a few McCain and Palin speeches and they scare the living shit out of me. I honestly think they will destroy the world as we know it if they win. It's never a good idea to elect any sort of a radical as a leader, especially for as powerful a country as the United States, and radicals are just what the Republicans have shown themselves to be so far. It only took me ten seconds of a McCain speech to see that he was being dishonest. I forget what the subject was, but I actually heard him say something about americans doing what they've always done, which, according to him, was adapting so that they could stay the same. He contradicted himself twice about the same thing in one sentence. How do you even do that? And Palin scares me more. She's being honest enough, I think, but if she isn't, I don't want to know what she's hiding. I mean, what she's been saying is just horrifyingly conservative. Imagine what she hasn't been saying.

the republican party before WWII would consistently vote to stay out of global politics and focus on helping every american, to raise the standard of living, and become isolationist, the democratic party wanted to help every american, but they also wanted to help the rest of the world.

I like how the sphere of helpfulness between the political parties shrunk in the last 70 years, switching from the republicans wanting to help every american, to only helping the super-rich.
