Just tonight on channel seven news they where interviewing what looked like to be a 18 year old African American as he stated that "Since Obama is in office i can finally go to college now." :ohdear:

Possible that now he feels as though he really can make something of himself. This is a huge confidence booster for most of America, but African-Americans especially. I'm happy. I'm happy that now, things will feel more equal to everyone. If an African-American can be president, they can do anything. Now they know that, and now whites know that too. I think this is the beginning of the final stages of integration and peace between at least those two races. Of course there will always be those who refuse to move forward and continue to hate like our friend RomanCollar, but now hopefully they will be the true minority.

Was he really so stupid as to think he couldn't before? Blacks have been successful for decades now, why would he need this to realize this isn't the 1960's anymore?

How is oppression only cast by how are presidents are? We have people of all races, men and women, who have made their mark in America as CEO's or congressmen or governors. I don't know what you think of America but it's not filled with a bunch of redneck racists anymore.

Because the highest of the high have always been white. Always. Despite how high up black people could get, there was always a white person above them until yesterday. Which was terrible and I'm happy it's over with now. I'm glad that on January 20th, 2009 there will no longer be a rich old white guy in the oval office. I'm about tired of them.
