Okay. Now I've been out of Pokemon ever since Pokemon Gold. The show was too stupid and childish for me to bear, so t really made me dislike the franchise as a whole. However, since EVERYBODY (Even tons of people I know ages 20 and up)  seems to love diamond and pearl so much, I was thinking maybe I should get back into it. Are the games really worth it, or is it the same exact game that's been made over and over but this time with online multiplayer? I guess I'm asking what makes diamond and pearl so great in comparison to the others, and are they good enough to get back into the franchise for?

Release date on that is TBA. Who knows how many months it will be before its released? If I'm getting back into it, I'll do it this week.

EDIT: Oh, the release date for Platinum is sometime in spring 2009. That's still months away.

Well for one you can find nearly every pokemon from every game in it cept the legendaries. And a lot of those can be found in Platinum. I'd say go for it, it's a great game.

How good is the online play? Can you play random people or can you only play people whose codes you know?

you can only random cpu battles against other peoples teams.

Theirs a lot more and it's definetly a great game to have.

I can't remember which game I got (the one with the silver legendary dragon penis one?), but they are all fairly samey. It's a beautiful formula but I don't think I could go on and pick up every new title anymore like I would have done as a kid.
I know it's only Poke'mon, but I think if they had a really awesome storyline backing up the game play it'd really be something. You know, not just Team Galactic/Rocket trying to take over the world.

I played daimond and I thought it was really bad but maybe that's because I didn't know any of the pokemon I encountered.

I doubt it will ever top Gold/Silver, but I'd go for Platinum as it looks kinda promising.

Never mind. I told my friend I was thinking about buying Diamond or Pearl and he said not to since he already got me Pearl for Christmas.
