Object trouble

I can't get an object to move by itself.I have two objects together and I want to move just one.

Yes, are you moving it with a motion tween or just trying to drag the object around the stage? If it's in a tween, every layer with a motion tween on it has to contain solitarily the symbol you're tweening.
