I knew what they were from, i have seen the classic clips here and there of like the monkeys with the monolith, and when he shuts down hal. I just never watched the entire thing before

and i guess it did keep me entertained enough to watch the whole thing so it doesnt neccesarily need to make sence, i was just checking if there was some explanation i was not grasping
