Well, ToonDisney managed to show Fox and the Hound over this weekend, and the second one which takes place between them befriending eachother. I caught the second one first, and really liked it. Nice animation, a conflict between popularity and friends, and a heartfelt lesson at the end of the movie.

I recorded the first one while the rest of my familly watched the SuperBowl, and stayed up late watching it after they went to bed. I have to say, I fucking cried. This is probably the first time I ever cried at a Disney movie in a long time. The ending ended on a good vibe, but it was so wrong. I went to bed thinking about this movie, and for the first time since I was young, I really felt for a movie. I went to bed screaming in my mind it should have ended different, they should have gone back to the way it was when they were young.

I've always appreciated animated movies like this, for their values and the animation work involves. Looking back at it now though, these things are true pieces of art. Not just with colors and pencils, but in writing and plot. To bring out emotions like this as a kid, and an adult really takes something.
