Starfox Command was close but no cigar.

Assault was good minus the some of the on foot portions and the crappy multiplayer music. I also wish it was less linear, 64 gave you a lot of choices. But Starfox Adventures, wow, that sucked. And the arwing sections are awful.

Slurpee

they should have just kept remaking starfox snes over and over again

I thought it was an OK game, not great, but a nice little generic action adventure. The little dino-sidekick was kinda annoying, and the last boss was a beast who almost made my thumbs fall off.

I actually liked this game.. Not so much the story but for the time the graphics were awesome and some of the music was pretty decent. The gameplay wasnt too terrible either.

SockpuppetClock

I once rented the game, but I was stuck at a ditch or something and I had no one idea how to get out so I never finished it.

I kinda like it, it isn't perfect, but , there is no reason to hate it, the story was meh, the characters annoying but I remember Navy, and I still love Ocarina of time

It's kinda good if you ignore what a Star Fox game is supposed to be like and just go along with what they offer. Basically it's a clone of Zelda with a cameo from Diddy Kong Racing.

Originally the game was being made for the N64 and it wasn't even supposed to be part of the Star Fox franchise. The main character was a dog with a sword or something. When Rare revived the project for the Cube, they somehow got Nintendo to lend them their furries for the game. This is probably why the Arwing parts look like a quickly thrown up last minute addition: they really are.

The game's fun, but alas there's next to no replay value. Once you've beaten it, you can't even go back to the planet and explore for hidden stuff, not that there's anything interresting to find outside the main quest. You can always delete your game and start it over if you actually liked the story and got attached to Tricky. ;)

The screenshots to the original N64 version actually looked pretty good.

They're really well done for an N64 game. Thinking back I suppose it wasn't a bad game. I was just disappointed because I wanted a real Starfox game. I also wish there was more to do with the money, you get all the items in the shop pretty quick and then money is worthless.

TequilaClock

I hate when shit like this happens, EarthBound 64 and Conker's Twelve Tales also looked awesome but got pulled away and rebuilt to be something that could not have been what we all expected.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rareware was actually polishing this one fine  as another original franchise before the GameCube's arrival until someone from Nintendo's heads said "HEY LOOK THAT CHARACTERS LOOKS LIKE FOX MCCLOUD ADD HIM INSTEAD".

FLOUNDERMAN_CLOCK

Speaking of games that changed during development, has anyone seen the original videos of Resident Evil 4? I'd love to play that. Sure I loved RE4, but the demo for the original idea looks pretty awesome.

TequilaClock

Its just one of the many what-ifs I can't get off my head. Bah I am such a fanboy.

EDIT: In fact I just imagined Jet Force Gemini getting slightly modified to become Metroid64, which confortably and satisfacingly enough, it wasn't.

FLOUNDERMAN_CLOCK

Then there's Ocarina of Time. God damn was there so much we didn't see because of the DD dying.
