I wish dude, last year was so much fun, but finances do not permit that I can swing it this year. :(

Something kind of tying in with that, though, I just got a new job!

Starting off on-call, but it pays way more than my pizza gig, and I'm so sooo glad to get outta there. Hopefully I can take a vacation by PAX next year.

Congrats on the new job! I'll do my best to help send some pollution up north for you!

Any of you guys see Logan yet?

Without spoiling anything, I loved it. I wouldn't call it flawless, but I think it was damn close to perfect.
The only nitpicks I have lie souly in the editing, and not in regards to the action scenes or anything like that. Jesus Christ the violence in that movie is so visceral and satisfying. The first time Wolverine busted out the claws and went at a guy I had to stop myself from saying 'holy shit' aloud in the theatre.

Would recommend.

Hide that last name, hombre

Truthfully it was only for the sake of the gag of my clock on the ID. You can find my full name and all that shit with one google search.

PhantomCatClock

I was going for the obvious pun and would've spelled it correctly but I wasn't sure if you were actually Hyding it until that post

That's pretty much the same review I heard from my other Marvel homeboy, but I keep forgetting Logan is out. I hope I DO see it before it's not in theatres any more

Slurpee

Logan was really good, asterisk I was four beers in with no dinner, asterisk asterisk but I'm still pretty sure it was really good

I didn't know it was R rated so that opening scene was quite a surprise!
also pretty much the entire end sequence holy fuck. I don't know what they did differently in this movie from most movies, but the violence was well and truly brutal, without being too gratuitous.

it's also such a, just, bizarro world version of xmen origins?
instead of young, he's old
instead of bad, it's good
professor x is in it, but instead of randomly showing up to write out a bunch of arbitrarily imperiled mutant kids, his presence drives wolverine to protect the kids, who are central to the emotional core of the movie
wolverine randomly stops by an unrelated farm house
an evil claw man shows up
fucking adamantium bullet

if its any kind of reassurance, I'm not a fan of the X-men in general and pretty much only see the movies because my Dad likes them and we've seen most all of them together.

fucking adamantium bullet

It's like poetry yunno they rhyme

PhantomCatClock

The only one I've seen that wasn't just about Wolverine this decade was Apocalypse, and, at the risk of sounding like absolutely everybody, that Quicksilver scene was great. The rest of the movie was aight, but man, that Quicksilver scene.

RobClock

Apocalypse was easily the worst out of the post-First Class batch of X-movies. Just a boring flashy been there done that spectacle that can barely hold your attention with its overly elaborate X3 tier doomsday finale. That Quicksilver scene was dope tho u rite

breaking news out of wikileaks: the cia kept files on Japanese emoticons to use when infiltrating online communities

also how to pirate windows 8

Slurpee

if we know anybody who uses Japanese emoticons and windows 8, it's possible they're a CIA operative attempting to infiltrate the glorious democratic people's republic of clock crew
actually, it's damn near certain. no normal person would use windows 8

I don't think I like the First Class setting. Maybe I just didn't give it a chance because I was invested in the less-than-stellar previous one

Luwano

Days of Future Past is probably the shittiest title, but my favourite X-Men movie. Time travel never makes much sense, but two great Magnetos make up for that. 👍

PhantomCatClock

HEY SLURPS I have one for you in case you don't have enough homework (and do this in psuedocode and not that whatever that made Forth look readable): generates random number #1, semi-random number #2, and number #3 is whatever would make the set average out to a target number, so (#1 + #2 + #3) / 3 always equals TARGET

alternative assignment: don't

PhantomCatClock

I guess that would be easier without the actual limits

Numbers 0-255, test the set with a TARGET of 153 and 102

Slurpee

oh the code in the screenshots was just the equations it generated in case the end user wanted to use them again later

I probably didn't explain properly
the principle is that equations bound by the range -1 to 1 and having a domain of -1 to 1 can be stacked indefinitely and always have the same domain, so the program generates equations of a given complexity which are then used to convert another discrete range of values to a unique pattern
R:(0,screenSize) -> R:(-1,1) -> [generated equations] -> D:(-1,1) -> D:(0,255) -> colorHex

the program itself was just c++ I don't code in fucking malbolge lmao

Slurpee

that looks easy enough though

foo (int target) {
int randNum = rand()%255;
int semiRandNum = range[rand()%rangeSize];
return ((target*3)-randNum-semiRandNum);
}

I think that's right. I just solved for the third input algebraically
not sure what semi random means so I just had it assign a random value from an array? also I didn't write it in pseudo code because I only know one programming language'm cool

okay I'm going back to working on a thing but that was actually a nice distraction thank you bye
