Quote from: RobClock on May 07, 2017, 06:39:10 PMIm watching Twin Peaks this week. I've got a couple of friends who have been riding me to see it for a year or two now but one of them sent me a download link for the show a legal copy of seasons 1 and 2, and damn if i'm not loving the hell out of this.

Instead of season 2 you might as well watch the Bold and the Beautiful or some shit.

I myself am rewatching the X-Files because I am a cool person.

No, fuck you, you vaguely human-shaped aggregate of phlegm. It's known the world over that pictures of screaming red cats that I found on 4chan or whatever are a staple of my shitposting arsenal. You know what you did.

I just found out that, after David Lynch left the twin peaks revival project ~three years ago and I stopped paying attention, ''Showtime'' brought him back to direct every episode, the episode count was doubled to 18(!) and it's finally debuting later this month (!!)

we should bookclub it or something. maybe. idk
well, i personally like david lynch's movies, so im certain that this ''twin peaks'' revival project will be good.

Kickstarter for an Eskimo Bob NES game http://www.eskimobob.com/2017/05/09/eskimo-bob-for-nes-kickstarter-now-live/

Looks pretty good, thankfully. His last kickstarter was ridiculous.

QuoteTechnical Stuff

Programming and level design for the game are complete. The game has been extensively tested on original NES hardware as well as a few clone systems such as the RetroUSB AVS and Retro Duo.
I probably would have led with that

as far as crowdfunding goes, "the game is already finished" is a pretty solid pitch

i agree with that.
also:
perhaps we could start a kickstarter for a PC-game about the clockcrew?
we could get our programmers to help (sage clock? pineapple clock? VCR? /suggest names), and our artists (most of us) to do the artwork for the game...
it sounds like a crazy idea, but it could work.
many people know what the CC is, and it would cause some interest, one way or an other.

[therefore every 9th of may will be celebrated as ''piccolo day''!!!]
i dont get it.
what do you mean?

(unless that was a clever pun on NG's pico day....
in that case, congrats.)
BTW: this years pico day was OK(ish), yet older pico day events had a much larger collection of movies+tributes.

It is a crazy idea, although in no way novel. People have tried in the past to make (non-flash) games about Clocks. Most ideas were severely unrealistic, I'm talking World of Warcraft with Clocks. I tried twice myself. The first time I didn't get beyond modelling a few Clocks in 3d. Although I remember there being talk about buying a game engine etc. These were just the pipe dreams of a bunch of dumb fifteen-year-olds. The second effort was perhaps a little more achievable: I envisioned it as a glorified chatroom with pixel Clock characters, but I quickly lost interest. I'm not quite sure, but I vaguely remember playing a 3d game with Clock avatars for a while, you could build houses and stuff out of basic components, sort of like in The Sims, but first person. I think that was a mod of some game though. Or perhaps you could add your own 3d player models to the game, I'm not sure. Anyway, it doesn't matter because no one is going to Kickstart shit. We were perhaps, maybe, the tiniest bit known in some corner of the internet ten years ago, but now we are a dead planet orbiting a fading sun. Face facts, you dumb fifteen-year-old.

"Fidget spinners are fucking dumb"

sees one on Amazon for less than $3, adds it to a big order

"look at this fucking dumb thing"

does nothing but fidget with and spin the fidget spinner all day while fucking around on computer

help, I think I'm secretly a twelve  year old.

Also, my last day of work is on Sunday. For the last six months, it was an exciting idea, but now that it's here it's just scary and a little sad

I had to look that up

I'm glad childhood is still dumb, I was getting worried about how perspicacious this next generation is

I came here to post this

0) somebody added the outlines to the footage. I feel like this is obvious but yeah
1) fun game, without looking it up, try to guess what they're supposed to be drawing
2) I like the guy that didn't know what show he was on

I'd probably have never heard of them if one yoyoer I watch didn't have a few. I see some kids with them at work (like.. maybe three over 2017 so far (it's 2017, right? This  year.)) but I probably wouldn't've even thought about it if I didn't know what they were. Like, I've seen a lot of kendamas, too, and I only know about that because it's the couple-years-ago-toy-that-didn't-make-it-that-yoyoers-were-aware-of (Astrojax ring any bells? Though I think kendamas did better since I still see those sometimes)

aww fuck dude I JUST FOUND MY ASTROJACKS brb jackin it
