I like to visit pornmd's live feed of shit people are searching for on pornmd when I need a laugh, and it never disappoints

I'm thinking about Slurpee possibly six—though maybe as low as three—hours per day. Like Peter Frampton and guitar solos, however, it is never the same thought twice.

• Click Steam
• Click something else with the intention to type
• Steam's loading window pops up and needs to take focus for some reason
¬ click and start typing again, one more letter
• Steam library loads. Takes focus.

• SPECIAL OFFER! Takes focus.
¬ WAIT. UGH. ...Ok, that was it. I can type in my other window, now.

is that like i3 for people who aren't blind

VCRClock

it's a stacking window manager for people who want to read a manual to learn to write a config file to produce a UX that would have been very cool in the early 2000s, or window manager behavior understood only by people with an opinion about Sun Microsystems

pros: practically everything from appearance to window behaviors can be customized to the extent that you could specifically tell Steam "don't do that" and it might listen
cons: arcane *nix wizard style configuration; modular as in "find your own systray;" originally built in olden times

recommended if you like: driving around in your car with the radio and part of the a/c sitting disassembled on the front seat

Could you recreate this https://youtu.be/eSNqzTwHiuU
I thought this was going to be a Duke Nukem video.

I remember that screen. It made me think of the turbo button you used to have on 486s. Remember those? I never knew what it was for, but I always turned it on because, you know, "turbo". Apparently though: "Disengaging turbo mode slows the system down to a state compatible with original 8086/8088 chips. On most systems, turbo mode was with the button pushed in, but since the button could often be wired either way, on some systems it was the opposite." Nice.

i think it has to do with sentience. wreck-it ralph elaborates on the topic

even if I knew how to do all that, I don't think my computer, two years younger than that video, could run its fans fast enough to handle that much 1337

the most relatable part of the video was the screen tearing, but I fixed that

i made an actual gaming pc and put linux on it so every time something doesn't work i know it's my fault

that said, it all went much smoother than i expected—but I still had the exact adventure I was hoping for (for like a solid month, at first)

PhantomCatClock
