but that would apply to him and only to him alone

in that case he'd prob harass people he didn't care for until they voluntarily left

yeah, I suppose it does repeat itself

I think that happened during the Ivy League Brotherhood reign? or at least during the preceding rule, which was...slurpee's? i can't recall anymore but it was the usual internet drama
Internet Cult? that was before me
I don't remember any splinter groups when I was in charge

I was actually kind of a cheerleader for Internet Cult among the staff here, urging coexistence, even though I didn't join up, because, yeah, it was pretty much just the same group of people but with different people in charge, which was verrry different from the cc.net/clockgrounds/co.uk/wtfnoob days, which were like different fucking planets
and nobody was talking about leaving, just doing their own thing, and as long as we remained as an alternative, nothing was being taken away from anybody, so I viewed it as, like, creative chaos

No, Internet Cult was a few years before my time too. It was called Clocktopia, I think ClockRadio owned the domain name so we made it a BBS for shits and giggles. Everyone had admin privileges so it was, as you said, creative chaos, like a parody of a parody of .cc. In fact, pretty much everyone that was on .cc was on there too, and for a while no one really cared because it was an alternative
Then Albino made it into an actual division and things started going to shit. Now that I think of it, it was probably during the Ivy League Brotherhood era, things were peaceful during your time in charge
i was having a hard time placing in a specific time because I was an smod at a certain point, and it would've been weird to be an admin over at clocktopia. but i remember "resigning" from there, in proper dramatic clock crew fashion

i also found out bb10 is now a persona non grata, which is kind of surprising imo

I have no memory of this but it definitely sounds like something that would happen

I'm constantly surprised by how funny we were even a year ago in this very thread that I read every day, and I remember 0% of it

yeah from time to time I'll be like
"what was that song somebody said to listen to a while back?"
and go back to find the post, and it'll turn out to have been like two and a half years ago, and I'll read things that sometimes literally I myself said but forgot about and it'll make me laugh

or sometimes I'll see myself in the past just not understanding a joke that you made and I'll be like "man would it be insecure if I clarified that I understand this joke now?"

Slurpee

I don't even know what an html5 file is

PhantomCatClock

i wish i could give more context, but it kinda happened out of nowhere

i still remember the 10 page megathread about it over here though, not sure if it migrated over to this iteration of the BBS

yeah, I thought he'd remain the mascot character forever, but I can understand how people would grow tired of him. people thought he was an alt for the longest time, there was no way he was speaking earnestly

although to be fair he spams the hell out of the clock crew facebook group, which kind of led to my return now so...thanks bb10

such is the magic of the Biggest Thread

man, I love this place. some of the fondest CC memories I have pertain to the CCBT, I'm happy to see that it lives on and that some of the regulars from back in the day still visit

i'm sure i'd cringe at 15/16-year old me posting, however. but it's in there. somewhere in the back.

to be clear, this isn't "no" because of personal bias or bias against html5, which in an alternate universe we'd all be using

it's because not only does the code not exist for such a forum module, but because allowing people to <iframe> anything they want, on any page, is incredibly stupid for security/anti-griefing reasons

flash has security problems too, but it's much less intuitive to use it to fuck shit up (rip battery clock)
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew
