playing yakuza 0

why the fuck is the currency in this game the spam symbol

Slurpee

no wait that's not my question

do any of you play the yakuza games?

I'm several hours in and I'm completely checked out of the plot and wondering if that's normal

watching these two japanese businessmen talking about a ¥100,000 bottle of champagne and just... no clue what the significance of any of this is. I just feel like Kiryu is just constantly being betrayed like he's 90's Sting. oh here's the eyepatch guy people like him right? I'll start paying attention wml

Slurpee

YEah!!!!!!!

I need to go back to Yakuza Kiwami 1. I was mostly invested in it for Majima and I need to see the rest of that, but I gotta fight a boss before any more Majima appearances will happen. Right before a boss fight is a weird part to jump back into a game but now I can't stop thinking of how fun that guy is. I love how sometimes he shows up as a a surprise and other time it's "hmmm I wonder what's under that giant traffic cone". Or when he invades the damn mini games. If I beat that I'll play 0 because Majima and then idk about the whole series that's a hell of a commitment.

skeeter is the waluigi of the muppets

I think, yes, she is seen as less than legitimate because she originated on muppet babies instead of a proper muppets program, a cartoon counterpart for her twin brother scooter with no foam and felt equivalent

even robin and bean bunny will show up for cameos in group shots, skeeter is nowhere to be found

PhantomCatClock

if you were a headcrab zombie i would shoot the headcrab off and then just try to run around you and clear the level while trying to forget what obvious pain you're in, because baby, i just can't hurt you

<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

and, by the same token, you must have brought that up because skeeter is a puppet and i didn't even catch it because i didn't know what you were referring to

an elaborate tootsie pop of a joke

"the doy dot the dasketdoll" is actually a pretty good joke because the real joke is that Doug is a fucking dipshit

he's trying learn ventriloquism and the book says to replace b sounds with d's because they sound similar but you can make a d sound without moving your lips, and it gives "the doy dot the dasketdoll" just as an example
and the only thing doug gets out of it is "say 'the doy dot the dasketdoll'"
so he's showing everybody his ventriloquism routine and it's just holding a dummy and saying "hey everybody! the doy dot the dasketdoll!!!" while he visibly moves his lips and his parents visibly wonder if their son is developmentally disabled
