What is it with printer companies and being bastards? I know HP keeps getting sued for timebombing their toners or whatever. Finally need to print something and am un-depressed enough to set up a Brother printer I bought -years- ago. Box says there's a toner cartridge and drum assembly inside. There is no drum assembly inside. There's an empty spot for its box in the foam insert, at least. This part is $110 and I didn't have any money for the last time someone needed $100 from me, this week.

blame YOUR brother: the evil version of you who, needing a drum assembly but not having $110 to blow, bought an entire printer that said it had a toner cartridge and drum assembly in the box, took the drum assembly, then either returned or resold the printer sans drum assembly

nobody's told me yet that i should get eye surgery, but my eye dr said "o ja ur vision's worse than before because <condition>," and the things you can do for <condition> seem to be eyedrops and surgery, so i too may be headed for the costco eye surgery dept one day

if the condition is "keratoconus" it's probably better to take care of it asap

turns out cross-linking surgery does not fix the damage it does, it just stops the progression, and you won't be a candidate for lasik, so, the sooner you get to it the better

today I am taking a moment to quietly appreciate that the number of minutes in an hour is easily divisible into halves, thirds, quarters, fifths, sixths, tenths, and twelfths

imagine if it was 100

you can split it into halves all the way down, but no thirds, no fifths, hence no sixths, no tenths.

I'd previously noticed that the 12/24 hours of a day are also divisible by 2 3 4 ... 6 and ... 12 and figured that's why Father Time (inventor of time) didn't go with metric time

however i'm gonna be real with you the only problem with 420 minutes an hour is that the clocks would only ever hit :419 and never :420 :weed:
