so i've been researching accordions for months, now

and i mean the boots-on-the-ground stuff. scouring forums, reddit. There are forums that are still active, go figure. Anyway, accordions get expensive fast but i also know there are cheap ones for students that aren't shitty. I wanted all the buttons of a "real" one, but at the price of entry for a student. Surely there's one model where the buttons don't stick and I won't need to crack it open to do repairs myself ALL THE TIME--I'm fine with initial upgrades/fixes to get around made-in-china edges on everything. this isn't my first rodeo and god knows it won't be my last stupid hobby

oh, how naive i was. Not about my requirements——those models exist and are easy to find, with a pittance of research. The different KINDS. The type I wanted is sometimes called a melodeon, except when it isn't. Sometimes it's called an irish accordion, except for when they don't call it that. When / why is it called different things? Never did figure that one out. Did you know there are DIGITAL accordions? that seems like a good way to save a buck

haha fuck you they're actually seven grand

but yeah, anyway, mexican oom-blat mariachi music to the rescue. The piano-key-style are popular down there apparently, but I was able to find my 2-3 rows + 8-10 bass button model with the bellows in the italian mexican flag colors with a cool holographic paint over the main body, nice and cheap (for a accordion——five hundred ish). Apparently they sell these at guitar center, too? hell yeah, neat. not the one i want, but still, good to know for in-person testing. if this is another silly hobby, cool. got mine, gonna learn how to play jigs and shit. if i become a accordionist with a six thousand dollar pigini ellegaard special p58 i'll remember your names when they're putting the star wars hero medal over my neck, you useless nerds

anyway i ignored all the research i did and bought a concertina at the last second

the "augie" in "augie doggy" is short for "augmented"

PhantomCatClock

Slurpee

ummmmm no I'm pretty sure it's augmented. does he remind you of augustus caesar? no. does he remind you of adam jensen? yes.

Slurpee

Slurpee

I roll my blunt and I count my ducs

PhantomCatClock

augustus doggy not augustus caesar

Slurpee

augustus doggy reminds you of augustus doggy?

PhantomCatClock

yeah

you'd think it'd be augustine or something in the jellystone remake, but no, they named her augustus again

Slurpee

and who does the original augustus doggy remind you of? adam jensen, duh
