Ah, the wonderful twenty-first century! Human technology grows at a rapid speed along with our intellect... but what about the other side? Sure, we have records in the 1920's of the gate opening a couple of times... but has life for the dimension of alchemy changed drastically as well?

Meet Kouyama, Rin; a fourteen year-old daughter of a scientist that studies what the aliens left behind. Mrs. Kouyama's research has led her to Munich, Germany; the place where the gate last opened and closed. The Germans warmly welcome the Kouyama duo to Munich, and escort them to the area believed to be where an alchemist named 'Elric, Edward' opened and closed the gate forever after living, scientists predict, two or three years in our dimension.

Rin, being the stubborn teen she is, thinks all of this alchemy business is nonsense and holds a grudge against her mother for moving away from Tokyo, Japan to, what she says, research a myth. She follows her mother anyway, sometimes finding a vague interest in her mother's studies. One day while the Kouyamas were driving to the site where the gate was last opened, they were forced to stop by an odd group of seven hooded people whom called themselves 'The Seven Heavenly Virtues' that asked them not to go any farther, or they would be forced to use them as an offering to their master. Mrs. Kouyama ignored them, but Rin felt something terribly tragic was about to happen.

When the Kouyamas finally reach the site, Rin wanders off alone against her mother's rules and encounters a member of the hooded gang and is knocked out cold. Another member finds her mother and knocks her out as well... together they were used as the 'every other century' sacrifice. Rin's mother was used as her ticket to the other side, where she landed up in an abandoned ally way in Central, out cold and suddenly orphaned.

This thread makes me wish I had a bigger penis, so I could poke it into the ear of little girls and kill them.

Twelve months have flown by like seconds on a clock. Bad luck's popularity across Japan has grown substantially, but it's still not enough to surpass Nittle Grasper. The two bands are constantly fighting for the rank of number one; neither one remaining in the spot for very long before the other takes over. The fued continues on. Each band tries to think of ways to out do the other and finally recieve the title of number one permanently.

However, in the recent month, it appeared the Bad Luck was beginning to get the upper hand over Nittle Grasper. For the past few weeks they have been ranking number one. A sign that perhaps the battle would end and prize of being number one finally given.

But no.
A . n e w . a r r i v a l.
Just as Bad Luck was beginning to reach its coveted fame, a new band enters into the battle. Though still fairly new, the new band is quite an opponent. In only a week or two after their debut, they have reached the ranks of fourth and are quickly moving to third. It won't be long until they could possibly reach second and perhaps even first, stealing the number one spot.

It is a matter that has not gone unnoticed.
S u s p i c i o u s . r u m o r s.
But there is more to this new band than meets the eyes. Rumors have spread like wildfire about the band's quickly growing popularity; saying that it is not their talent that got them this far, but their connections in the music world. It is possible that the rumors are true, for it has been proven that the lead singer of the band has a very important connection to the music industry.

The lead singer is the adoptive sister of Tohma Seguchi.
A . p r o m i s e . m a d e . l o n g . a g o .
The lead singer of Masque, Aya, was not born a Seguchi. Though the vocalist may look vaguely like her foster brother, they are in no way related. The only relation the two have is the past they share and the haunting memories of that night.

A simple invitation gone wrong. A betrayl of friendship. An accidental gun shot. And a life that was lost.

Aya Seguchi was originally born Aya Kitazawa. Yes, she was the younger sister of Yuki Kitazawa, the one whose life was lost that night. However, Aya was never told the truth about her brother's death. A promise had been made between Tohma Seguchi and Eiri Uesugi. In order to right the wrong committed, Eiri pleaded to Tohma to take care of Aya, who had been a good friend of both of them because of their relations with her older brother. Not able to refuse Eiri's wishes, Tohma did as his friend asked, but on one condition - he would not tell Aya how Yuki died until he deemed her ready, for fear of Eiri's well-being.
A . s e c r e t . u n v e i l e d .
Years later, Tohma still had not told Aya the truth about Yuki's death. However, secrets don't remain secrets for very long.

Recently, Aya has been getting strange, anonymous phone calls. The first call inferred that Yuki was murdered. The second call stated that the person knew who had killed Yuki. The ones following have been nothing more than enigmatic riddles, supposedly clues to help Aya find the murderer. Scared and confused, the singer turns to her brother, Tohma, telling him about the calls and asking him what to do. The advice Tohma gives is that she should ignore the calls as best she could, but report anything to him if it persisted. The President of N-G Records is disturbed by these sudden calls and he is concerned that Eiri's secret will finally be revealed.

In order to stop the calls, Tohma hopes to find the culprit. But how can you stop someone who is as mysterious and vanishing as a ghost?

At first, Aya assumed it was just some opposing bands trying to get under her skin in order to stop her and her band from rising any further on the charts. However, the phone calls seemed to deep and thorough to be simple prank calls. It seemed the mysterious caller could be anyone, even a member of her own band, Masque, or another band like Bad Luck or even Nittle Grasper; though it seems far-fetched.
