I was tempted to answer with:

A true eldritch abonination incarnate is something i think is completely unexplored in modern gaming, and Earthbound was the only game to come close to accomplishing that in concept, hardware limitations aside, with Giygas. It makes me a bit sad because trying to make something like Giygas on PS3 tech in the hands of a competent developer who knows atmosphere like Naughty Dog would be incredible, and potentially horrifying.

I'm not talking modern horror hollywood-action style, I mean it will give you nightmares horror. Play it at night and feel uneasy in the darkness horror. Something that makes you almost want to just put down the controller because you just can't deal. I do think its possible, just look up amnesia playthrough videos. Since niche experiences that break the mold are becoming rather popular rather than millitary shooter #86, I think there's definitely a market for it. I want something that would make amnesia feel like a baby game.
