try donating money from your gift visa card to yourself using your paypal account's donate button. I think you'll lose 3% of your payment because paypal takes a cut, but the rest of it should show up in your account balance.

at the risk of giving you the wrong idea, paypal is kind of like an online bank. You can transfer funds to it and the company will hold that money for as long as you have your account. if you "donate" the money from your visa into your account, then your gift visa will lose X amount donated and your paypal account will acquire as much. In other words, Visa will consider the transaction as an online purchase and paypal will consider the transaction as a donation. You can then use the money in your paypal wherever you like without the need for the original card.

if paypal is too complicated, you can just use the visa gift card directly. Most websites support credit card payments so you can just use your visa's number as you would a regular credit card.
