hokay so I was just talking to my mom about.. something, and the Hogan's Heroes theme came up, and I said I can never play it in my head until I'm actually hearing it because I always start thinking of the Recess theme song since it starts with the same drum bit and I watched a lot of Recess as a kid. End up showing it to her

and she says GASP, IT'S THE HOGAN'S HERO SONG. So I'm like yeah, it's a little similar. Then she was all no, it's the Hogan's Heroes song so she had me bring that up

and we were just kind of like, haha, yeah, it's like the same just opposite. That's really cool. No, wait, hang on, it has the same cadences and this part's the same and I looked down at the iPad right when Newkirk was shuffling the cards and kind of said "..wait, that happens in the Recess" then RIGHT AFTERWARDS young american whose name escapes me was playing with some chemicals and just "GASP GRETCHEN PLAYS WITH AN ALCHEMY THINGY RIGHT AFTER THE CARD SHUFFLING" so we both rewatched it and rewatched the Recess theme (but actually looked this time) and holy smith it was a Hogan's Heroes reference like fifty years later and I only just realizWELL I GUESS I WAS A KID but still it was cool to know there was a Hogan's fan at the Recess team.

You're completely right and I feel like it blurs the line between editorial pieces and actual news reports as well as making clickbait shit look more legitimate, since it's written the same way as things that are supposed to be proper journalism.

I refuse to click on anything like it, even if it's from a reputable site. I've also been un-liking things on Facebook that have embraced that style of post, too, like the I Fucking Love Science blog. If an article looks interesting enough I just google the title and find it elsewhere.
