internal chat logs
forgot to save it but according to some of the emails there was starfox porn floating around the argonaut offices during starfox 2's development and some arguments over "condoning" that. I wonder if this is part of it. hilarious either way.

one email had this in it which was interesting

Quote"Beard Uncle"

There are irreplaceable pieces for game developers, as the first fishermen say that the first fish they catch is one that is memorable regardless of size. For me, Super Mario Bros. is that. A huge program area of 32 kbytes at the time. I don't know how I managed to pack it up. It would've been a fuss if you had a few exrta bytes of memory. Then, the infinite proliferation of Mario, the Minus World. . . . I'm sure the word "cheat" has been said since then. I'm relieved to not be called a "bug technique".
About eight years later, I was involved in various works, but as I grew older, I still felt that I became less clever and my memory was weak. However, I think that the point is that my efficiency (and cleverness) has been further improved.
>It is often said that the programmer's life is up to 30 years old, but this is a social custom that "you don't have to write it" rather than "you cannot write it". I myself plan to quit this job when I feel my limits. This is because there can never be a "programmer who does not program".

Programmer Kazuaki Morita

I looked him up and it seems he did just end up being a program director rather than an on-hand programmer. on some high profile titles too.

alright so apparently more n64 shit got leaked they just cant make sense of it all yet. some n64 audio files got converted though

uncompressed starfox 64 lines (I dont have the rest you'd have to hunt it down)

we dont have visuals yet but luigi was in mario 64 early builds, which we knew already but once they get the model working that would be swell to see finally. there's something people think might be ura zelda but it seems to just be master quest stuff. doesnt mean there might not be hidden ura zelda leftovers but I'm not getting my hopes up yet.

oh also an uncompressed render of the mario 64 manual image

and some other stuff

I used to stare at these renders on video game media (even as far back as the box art for Donkey Kong Country) and wish I'd get more of this. More higher detail just art of these game worlds—it didn't have to be the games looking better. This stuff excites Inner Child Phantomcat

note for younger audiences: nothing was 3D back then

Hella keep us posted, you're doing Miyamoto's work

except I'm sure this really pissed Miyamoto off. nevermind you are doing God's work

PhantomCatClock

Love seeing the higher resolution renders of Mario RPG (snes) characters from japanese magazines, too. Glad those got out of the studio in some capacity

I don't know what the hell changed but now my terminal can display emojis even over ssh so I now officially have no reason to ever use mac os again sorry apple

oh yeah I loved that stuff. I've got a bunch scans for dkc too, I wish I had more of the banjo ones but I have the posters. here's a bunch of random shit from my collection I could dig up if anyone's curious about that stuff.

I need to find the rest of the mario rpg enemy renders, I don't have my favorites. damn do I love the designs in that game. the monsters were wildly creative and strange but somehow fit just right in with mario's adventure. they're generally not even allowed to make new stuff like that anymore either as of sticker star. not even unique toads and goombas for the most part.

PhantomCatClock

Yeah, I just read that interview re: origami king

So playing through MRPG again on an emulator and cheating like a bitch to get all the frogcoins in the waterfall, 100 consecutive jumps, etc for the best items, you can totally pimp your team out to be so good that you can beat Smithy without using a single item, MEANING you can live the dream and beat the game with an inventory 100% full to the brim with fireworks and get the BEST ENDING

I saved too late and can't go back for this, when testing to see if I could beat Smithy itemless. Fuck doing that again sorry EVEN IF IT IS a much shorter game than I remember, now that I'm not dicking around and absorbing the whole world. (I mean, I'm still talking everyone to relax and immerse myself, but I know what doesn't have content do I'm never backtracking)

I thought it was some fan thing at first and then I saw the channel icon. that was pretty damn good. it really gets the show too even when it's so different. it's interesting to see rick this earnest and straightforward, even if he's still running a plan morty isn't fully in on. interesting ending there too. guess I should watch tower of god then if the director is this talented. this art style is kinda perfect for either series. and I guess rick and morty s4 I never did get around to that. after I animate this shit though. NO MORE SLEEP ONLY CARTOONIMATION.

trump may throw the first pitch in the yankees game next month, making 2020's the most important August 15th in Clock Crew history

This video got recommended to me and the first two notes remind me of the score of some movie.

[u2]iIWh11Wxp40[/u2]

Pling, pling and then the movie starts or some shit. Something with a music box (soundwise) maybe. I hate situations like this, you make this really vague association and being a musical illiterate I have no real recourse to ever find it, but that doesn't stop me from thinking about it incessantly.

Not that there has to be a gain necesarilly. I'm not entirely sure there's even anything to be gained with anything... Or something. Y'know what I'm sayin'? Because I sure as hell don't know myself.

if this is a "postcount" question, I recently found out that when I deleted someone's post history at their request a while back, the forum didn't automatically delete a bunch of old threads they created, so I deleted those manually over the past few days

if you'd wanted to relive the joy of making post 3333, I'm sure I can find some other threads to delete
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

PhantomCatClock

If you were manually doing it anyway, you could've moved the second post and everything after it into its own thread. I don't care if my post's context gets deleted, but I don't want mine touched because someone else regrets my beautiful text spam

But yeah, same thing happened to my 6666th post. I lost a couple which is BULLSHIT
