I attended the art club I'm in for the first time in about a month since I was ill following the extended power outage from the hurricane- very excited to talk to the others about a book I've read (DUCKS by Kate Beaton of Hark! A Vagrant fame, highly recommended) and these two hyper loud, hyper obnoxious women who had never attended before showed up and absolutely destroyed the atmosphere of the gathering and grated on my nerves for the entirety of the evening to the point where I could not focus enough to draw a single fucking thing it was awful

Yes!! When I first discovered Hark! A Vagrant a decade or more ago it was the most inspirational thing in the world to me that someone from Cape Breton, a region even more rural than my own, made it as not just an artist but a comic strip artist. Really countered every instance of my parents shitting on my dreams.





That's why I work in a factory making cabinets.
