I saw it at the midnight premier and then once more the next day. I was amazed at how un-disappointed I was. I liked all the little touches put in there specifically for people who read the book, like Hooded Justice having a russian accent and one of the computers in Veidt's fortress saying something like "S.Q.U.I.D INITIATED". Also, the soundtrack was bombin' and I loved the "Times They Are A Changin'" intro sequence.

i assume you're not referring to the atrocious my chemical romance version of desolation row at the end? that nearly ruined the film for me

I'm referring to all the great 70's music throughout the film, not that.

Poltergeist

I thought the soundtrack was great, besides a few moments where it just felt weird. Sounds of Silence felt a little forced, 99 Red Balloons was awesome though. My friends and I actually made a point to leave as soon as the movie was over, as I found out the credits music was a My Chemical Romance song

Biblo

nah i thought 99 red balloons was completely out of place and stupid. seemed kind of a "IT'S THE 80S" thing

Kombucha

I just saw it.

I was disappointed by a lot of things that were changed or left out, but on the other hand some parts were surprisingly true to the book. Overall, I feel very satisfied.

Saw it last night, it was pretty great. I am glad that i read the book first, several people in the theater where complaining that they didn't understand what was happing. I heared one guy saying: "i thought this was an action movie like Iron Man and Spider Man", what a douche.

You should have said it's meant to be a romantic comedy

PirateClock

Also people kept giggling every time they saw Jon's blue cock.

For the people who haven't seen this yet, you can view the opening credits here:

which are pretty damn fantastic.

saw it last night, had a few issues with it, mainly the girl playing silk spectre, she was a terrible actress. some of the songs were kinda stupid in the context they were used for most notably the leonard cohen song used for the sex scene in archie, i mean i like leonard cohen but with a chorus of hallelujah! during successful coitus after the previous attempt was marred by erectile dysfunction it played out more like a silly viagra commercial than the footnote to the underlying sexuality of being a masked avenger.

i felt the guy who played rorschach did a pretty good job, would have preferred if they focused more on his dialect but whatever i liked him. i really missed alot of the side stuff in the book which i felt was really important, the psychologists mental health deteriorating, the news vendor and the kid, the lesbians, the hollis mason murder, which i thought was incredibly important.

i dunno i liked the movie, i thought it was entertaining, didn't feel like nearly 3 hours, but it just lacked alot of what made the book great and i feel the movie was only salvaged by what it got right from the source material. i think it needed to be an indie film by a more competent director with better actors and a better screenplay. overall i'd reccomend it only to people who have read the book.

Most of the people I was with who hadn't read it liked it more than people who had.

Asshatclock

The intro was definatly the best intro ever.

Biblo

on second viewing the flaws shine through more. felt the length a lot worse too

That was pretty good but to be honest I expect better from something accompanying a big blockbuster of a film. You'd think they'd have a bigger budget or maybe they did and just did a half arsed job of it anyway.

I felt the same way about the animated stuff that came out with the Dark Knight. I'd be happy to make a short animation about Batman at a higher quality than most of them even if I wasn't getting payed. People are lazy fuck.

More accurate is they're not given enough time to make the pieces, so in the end they're rushed.
