fucking rubber stamps

So I pretty much spent my entire weekend on this. The result of the most dreaded Drawing class homework, I had to do all the value work with a single rubber stamp, which you see in the bottom right.

The worst part is I'm really not even that happy with it.

We had to do shit like that but in stead we just got a piece of potato we dipped in paint. Bullshit. There's no point.

My sloppiness and mistakes become quite evident when you look at the photo I made this from:



There was an instance where I stamped the page instead of scrap paper by accident and left a big black spot where value should be lighter, things like that.

I was hoping I could do it flawless, and obviously couldn't.

I never place much value in copying something robotically or photoaesthetically...  I think you captured the scene expressively and pleasingly.

well i really like the texture you've created, which looks way cooler than the original picture,

there are some flaws but the values aren't really a big thing at all

the perspective is the only thing that jumped out to me as being off, but that's just a matter of being more precise when building up your image

Indeed, its very difficult being precise with stamping because it requires almost all the edges and shapes to have clean edges by cutting out little pieces of paper and stamping over them.

Drawing it over in pencil wasn't a problem, it was the cutting of paper to be layed over the pencil that was tough. I totally agree though.

I like it. The texture is nice and I think it's a good experiment. Try some more works like this and I'm sure you will get the final one right.
