Converge

Converge are a hardcore band from Salem, Massachusets. They're heavy, extreme, and they take punk rock to a whole new level. Usually thrashy as fuck, but with ambience and aggressiveness too. Check them out if you like anything grindy, noisy, or extreme.

(Try "the saddest day"- huge breakdown at the end, and "last light"). The production's very raw and open. The singer Jacob Bannon is a graphic designer, and does all the artwork for them.





He's also a fantastic writer- look into some Converge lyrics and you'll be inspired and impressed.

My friends and I are all huge fans, three of us have got Converge tattoos, I don't regret mine one bit. I've found that it's impossible to be a casual converge fan- everyone who I've introduced them to has grown to love them hardcore over time.

Yeah I hate most post-hardcore bands or whatever but Converge fucking rule and I was completely surprised by how awesome they were (after listening to Jane Doe I mean).

The only song of theirs I've really come to enjoy is Concubine. Listening to a whole album of that... eh, I feel a bit tired. However, their art is usually fantastic. The painting in my avatar was inspired by Jane Doe's cover.

I like the guitar but the screaming is too much for me. I would have loved it 3 years ago though.
