For people who don't know, Tell Tale are now working on two Monkey Island games. One is a remake of the first Monkey Island with full voice acting and redone artwork and it looks absolutely fucking horrible. The other is an all new game in 3D that also looks absolutely fucking horrible.

Don't get me wrong, gameplay wise I'm sure they'll be fine and it's brilliant that it's finally getting resurrected but why couldn't they have got a few decent artists in on it. I'd fucking love a chance to work on the art for a Monkey Island game. I'd happily do it for free and yet these guys are getting payed to make it look like shit.

It's still good I guess but it makes me sad that the art is being left in the hands of retards.

whoever did the redesigning of this is a massive cunt

fine if you want to clean it up but the artists who did the original were geniuses and this guy has just completely disregarded it and fucked up all the brilliant background composition

the shoddy art in the 3D one is kind of excusable but remaking a classic and ruining the art is pretty ridiculous

Sorry man it's too late, it's coming out in a month or so. If it's any consolation they have the proper voice actors back, it looks like it runs well and the story and comedy seem to be up to standard. The design and modeling is still fucking horrible though.

I'm mostly hoping these two trigger a real new full length Monkey Island game. It would be ace if Tim Schafer and Peter Chan got in on one again.

The new one however, doesn't look really like any improvement on the 4th and whatever there's in the bottle he's holding in the second picture, I hope its not grog since Guybrush can't drink grog.

And I'm pretty sure that's root beer in the bottle because it says "oot eer" on it.
