But just think how much better TF2 would be if the Heavy was an anime girl!

Quote from: FLOUNDERINYOBUTT;1837615I think Kodiak is the only person on  this entire website who dislikes Slurpee. I still dont understand how  thats possible. He\'s so loveable and funny. Every guy wants to be his  friend and every girl wants to date him. Understandably Slurpee is not a  very happy person.

I think we've already ragged on that one for being a ripoff too.

tbh it's hard to call battlefield heroes a rip off when the only thing remotely similar being the game has guns, classes and an aesthetic style based on a similar time period.

Kombucha

It's actually a ripoff of Gang Garrison 2.

So yeah I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or what.

Asshatclock

wasn't battlefield heroes a TF2 ripoff as well and it turned out to be a pretty cool game ?

The graphical styles may be very similar, but the gameplay is quite different from TF2, even though they're both shooters.
Battlefield Heroes has different physics, it's a third person shooter, there are vehicles, and upgradeable abilities and weapons, the gameplay just has an entirely different feel to me. I quite like it.

WrenchClock

The characters don't look toy-ish enough. It needs like a teddy bear as the heavy or something.

I'm being serious.
I just dislike people calling it a rip off of Team Fortress 2 when there is quite a difference between the two in terms of gameplay.
The only similarities it has in gameplay is that you shoot people, you have classes and there are points to capture. But those things alone are a core part of the Battlefield franchises gameplay.
The only real similarities are in terms of the visual style. They do look similar but I feel they come from different roots. Team Fortress 2 is based on commercial art earlier in the century while Battlefield Heroes appears to draw upon more World War 2 based imagery. Things such as propaganda posters and dem babes painted on da planes.
So in essence the art style is based off of two similar yet different things.
The visual cues and hints along with the audio that goes along with them are also quite different across the two games.
Team Fortress 2 applies a more stylised spy fiction aspect to it whilst Battlefield Heroes is essentially cartoony.
Even the intentions of the designs are quite different. Valve desigined the visual aspects of Team Fortress 2 with story and playability in mind, allowing for things to just appear logical in the universe of the game and allowing players to see through the chaos. DICE on the otherhand intended for a more accessible game that has a casual feel and mood that doesn't confuse players too much.
I personally disbelieve that DICE ripped off the visual style of Team Fortress 2. It doesn't surprise me that more then one company wanted to make something other then brown shooter.

Poltergeist

Killzone 2 ripped off TF2 just as much

Bigglesnoots

I hope Valve sues the shit out of them! woo!

AirPumpClock

I think the second most glaring problem (aside from this ripping off TF2) is that it makes you pay real money for better weapons. Kinda like MapleStory! :O
