a religion is an organized collective of spiritual ideals held by a vast quantity of people (a culture). politicians are representatives of those people who are there to protect, maintain, and further the ideals of those people.

seperating politics and religion is not so easy. at least, in a place where religious ideals are abundant.

Yet Jesus himself said you SHOULD seperate them, easy or not.

Ofcourse if everyone votes for the nazi party they will rule and thus you'll have a dictatorship; Is that wrong if it is the peoples choice?
I don't think so if they have been motivated and moved for the right reason; Albiet I never think they ever have been much like in religion.

Ofcourse religion effects people and how they think/vote but I wish for it to not. Being against abortion because you sincerly believe it's a soul in that bunch of inanimate cells then it is your right to believe that. But if you believe it because you base your thoughts in a 2000 year old book without questioning and then take the right to enforce those abstract ideals on other people then that's just pure shit.

I do not believe people can make no choice on a subject. They either choose to be religious or they do not.

But do tell, do you seriously think that the Pope is second to christ on earth?

He is the Archbishop of all the world's Churches, Rome in particular. I do not believe he is infallible, but many men, like the late John Paul II have shown themselves to be incredibly holy and compassionate men of faith. In days of old the Popes were corrupt or controlled by European kings, but I believe now the Cardinals pick truly holy men to be the leader of the Church.

Being religious from birth, whole heartedly accepting the entirety of the bible is not a choice but an absence of choice.
IF you however know all the alternatives, have understood the choice in question and still choose to follow that path then that is a choice.
