Hey ClockCrew,
I am currently starting to get into the new peachy tweening-features of CS4.

But I now got stuck. In the old days I found my ways to work around the crappy keyframing that pre-CS4 versions offered, and I can't seem to abandon some of my old techniques.

What I want to do is a tween that loops forward and back, and gets slower at the highest and lowest point, while accellerating in between.

I prepared a little demonstration for that:

[FLASH]http://files.myfrogbag.com/qyabddjraxt6iuu/smoothing.swf height=300 width=600[/FLASH]

The lower part shows, how I would have done such a thing with a classic tween. I would start with 3 Keyframes, for lowest, highest and back to lowest point (frame 1, 20, 40), and then add 2 additional Keyframes in between them (frame 10, 30). This would give me 4 different tweening-sections wich I would then smooth individually (as the graphic shows) to get the wanted effect.

Now with a CS4 Motion Tween, I can't smooth the different parts on their own and will probably have to use the Motion-Editior. But how does that work?

DigitalLemonClock

you can either learn to use the motion-editor or use classic tweens

also the interface for the motion editor is very similair to adobe after effects and premier so learning it would be a good investment

Yes that's the plan.
I was just hoping someone would knew how to do this particular effect, so I could get a good start with the editor. With the handy new animation features, I really don't want to use classic tweens anymore.

AstronautClock

just crap around with it for a little while is always the best thing you can do
