Pillz

Good morrow, all members of the crew clockwise.

My name is Pillz... happy to meet you! I'm currently an untalented person with random insights of topics.... so be advised when talking to me, lest I confound your senses with my interjections of subliminal messaging and topic disclosures.

I don't have flash, but I do have a graphics tablet... I'm currently working on my drawing skills so that I can possibly make comics. I'm not sure if anybody would be interested in reading them or not...

As for such, I'm wondering if an 'audio comic' is a good idea... perhaps using speakonia for a soundfile to play along with the characters or something... that idea is still in the primordial stew phase so I'll take any reflections on that.

I also do a fair amount of creative writing... I love to make Fanfictions or write my own science fiction stories. If you would like to browse one of my fanfic works, here is a link...

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5314526/1/Recollections_of_an_Enigma

It's a Persona fanfic, so unless you know what it is, you might get confused...

I look forward to enjoying a most likely mutually beneficial existence with you all...

Be excellent to each other! Party on!
~Pillz

Who's Wilbur....?

Um... I apologize if my writing appeared high-browed... I didn't mean to offend anyone...

And plus, slaughterhouses aren't the best place to go... you could get into an accident. Be careful out there!

GoldenEgg

Hello there, Pillz. Enjoy your stay at The Clock Crew.

GamblerClock

Hey, can you post some of your drawings?
Also you need to download flash ASAP.

Well... I would dl flash but it costs 700 US dollars... XP

As for my drawings, some of them are mainly scanned but... since I broke my hand I'm not as good as I used to be. I'll work on something and post it up or PM it to you, Master Gambler. I have a DA with my drawings on it. I kinda used the name salt clock... sorry if there already is one. I made the account two years ago so... water under the bridge I hope.

enjoy. the character bios were scanned, both before I broke my hand... I can't draw that well anymore sadly... but I can still goof with my tablet.

If you're currently a student (and you can prove it to Adobe) you can get it for about $250, if that changes anything. I bought my copy that way. Of course, it was a little bit cheaper back then.
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

Not An Alt Clock

Welcome! If you'd like, you can download the trial version as you try to get used to it! Or you can just create another partition with another Windows OS and keep reformatting it every time the trial runs out. (If you have enough space for this of course!)

Also, no matter how bad they are, show us your drawings. We can give feedback on how to improve!

Enjoy your stay.
Do not be afraid. All will be revealed.

BTW, getting student editions takes a little bit of work if you're not in college (colleges usually sell them through their bookstores or whatever). Here's adobe's page with information on buying student editions.http://www.adobe.com/ap/education/students/studentedition/faq.html

There's an Education Store in the Store section of their website somewhere.

When I bought Flash 8 in high school, I think all I had to do was send them a scanned report card or student ID or something like that.

Ah, I didn't know that. I personally got Flash MX 2004 from a college while I was at a 2-week summer thing there where we made flash games. Haven't upgraded since.

Pillz

Hmm... in your opinion, may I ask, is it easier to use flash with a graphics tablet?

I mean, I'll obviously have to watch some tutorials... I'd rather stick to comics, but I admit flash doesn't sound bad...

Perhaps I may end up someday being a halfway decent artist who's confident enough to spam newgrounds with my shoddy amatuer attempts at expression and plots... XP

The Spoiler

It's usually easier if you have a tablet but it's completely possible to do well with a mouse (some of the CC's best artists use a mouse). I'd recommend you use a mouse for a couple months before you go out and buy a tablet, because if you buy a tablet right away and lost interest in flash you'll waste a lot of money.

Pillz

Um... actually, I received the tablet for christmas... I just use it for doodling on paint if I'm bored, but I thought of making some comics...

Kinda the reason I wanted to join the cc... didn't want to sound like a hypocrite, but I wanted to make comics about people here if I found something funny or got to know them..., I was not planning on animation with flash...

Still, I will admit you all have raised my interest in the program, I may check it out if I get ample funds later...

Kombucha

Wow, you use ellispses more than Blue Clock.

Pillz

Because grammatical wise, Ellipses are the best way to create a run on sentence with multiple thoughts, without spamming commas or semicolon splicing... (yay Ellipse)

And I apologize if the title of Ellipse Master belongs to Master Blue Clock... I didn't mean to threaten his position.

(rack up two more tallys for Pillz. XD)

Oh, okay. I thought you were wondering whether you should buy a tablet. If you have a tablet, use it. You might also want to use the mouse while you're learning, though, because it'll help you learn to use the line tool, etc. (In my mind) It's kind of like learning to drive on a stick shift car even though you have an automatic so when you need to drive a stick shift, you can.

I really like that analogy :O I use my tablet to draw a (really very) rough sketch, then I refine it using the line tool, 'cuz before I had a tablet, I drew everything with the line tool. tablet line tool tablet line tool tablet line tool tablet line tool.

Anyhow, welcome to the Clock Crew Pillz! These guys run Newgrounds, I'm still relatively new.
