Loki Clock

Quote from: Pillz;1676172Because grammatical wise, Ellipses are the best way to create a run on sentence with multiple thoughts, without spamming commas or semicolon splicing... (yay Ellipse)

And I apologize if the title of Ellipse Master belongs to Master Blue Clock... I didn't mean to threaten his position.

(rack up two more tallys for Pillz. XD)

Ellipses aren't grammar, they're punctuation. And the problem is that it's a habit of typography, like the use of XD, that is gratuitous, acquired through a desire for homogeneity and conformity with a group of probably terrible people (your friends), and a degrading way of looking at your own speech; all of your statements become suggestions, rather than assertions. If you have multiple thoughts you should EXPRESS THEM. We like hearing deeper assessments of things. Or at least say, "If you like, I'll expound on this." Mostly what you think of as trail-offs are really just regular old ends to sentences. Maybe what you really want to indicate is a continuative speech tone, like the comma in, "I would, but I don't like pears," and if so, you could use a semicolon for that and people might better grasp what you're trying to communicate instead of thinking you don't care one way or the other about anything and leave too many gaps in-between sentences, as if English is a foreign language for you and you need to pause between every sentence to think about how to say the next one. And a run-on sentence is many statements spoken as if they are one, not an indication that you have elaboration of the statement left that you haven't indicated.

Also, the ellipses BlueClock uses are the circles with one axis longer than the other.

Don't listen to Loki he's just trying to mess you up. He's fairly well known for trolling the new kids. All you need to know to post well here:

^Use passive form exclusively, active form makes you sound I'm a edgy teen.
good: I was being shot by him
bad: He shot me

^ Extend your thoughts by using ellipses rather than separating them into different thoughts.

^rather than expressing your emotion through your words, use emoticons. Try to be creative with them, like so
good: ^_^   >w>   OwO   ≧▽≦  (☞゚∀゚)☞  ;w;
bad: :( :) ;)

^ always use the title area in your posts. Without a subject explicitly stated in the post title people won't understand what you're trying to say.

Good luck man, I look forward to seeing you become a great poster.

heineken

Thank you master flounderman, I will take your advice  to heart. I appreciate all you guys and gals (if there are any) being so supportive.

As a side note to everyone, I would be curious as to who would be interested in joining my comics if I prove good enough. I'm not really sure what it will be about, as I would hate to simply become a parody device like family guy. Parody devices are still cool, but a lot of the jokes have been used up. I'd have to think of some custom plots or something in order to make it appealing.

Still, I suppose if you want to join, want a cameo, or have a suggestion, feel free to drop me a PM sometime later. Just don't be surprised if I mutilate your design of your character. V_V

He uses the other kind quite a lot, too.

Don't ever use emoticons.
