Slash

Also the Jaguar man in pitfall: the mayan adventure.
Right before facing him you could collect 99 bombs though, but even with those he was hard to beat.

He makes it seems much esier though.

To beat just about any NMH boss all you have to do is wait for combo, roll in, attack as many times as you can (in this case twice I guess, I haven't played NMH1 in a long time), roll out, rinse repeat

Yeah, but she'll sometimes fall over really quickly and not give enough time to get out the way.

Also, Henry. Nothing else to be said. Henry is fucking insane batshit and even harder than Bad Girl. It's weird the "actual" final boss was a cakewalk.

I think Suda just does that to troll you. The "final boss" was a cakewalk in NMH2, until you got to his FUCK YOUR ASS 2nd form.

Then his 3rd form was easy again for some reason

To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.

I want to write an essay on No More Heroes. I am absolutely serious.

Pitfall is such a tragedy of a franchise on how it evolved.

The SNES/Genesis/GBA game was decent enough

then the GameCube game they made was annoying but not bad for its time, but finally The Big Adventure was the final sink. They literally grabbed the GameCube game and added very joggy Wii controls.

Nathan Drake makes a much better heir of Pitfall Harry.

Soup Clock

Quote from: Mr. Super Awesome Man;1730416She had a lot of health and could take a lot of health from you, but it was easy to escape from her and consume some enemies.
Just keep some distance.

It's not so much that she was difficult, she was more rage-inducing because of the time that it took to get her health down.  It's like, hijack tank, shoot 3 times, get blown up, consume 2 hunters, repeat.  Long, repetitive and majorly frustrating if you do end up dying, even once.
ass whore

Any boss with a long unskippable cutscene before it you need to watch again every time you die.

Man that game made me rage so much when I was a kid. I don't think I ever got past that room with the huge rolling boulder/ disk thing. Actually now that I think of it, I finally figured that part out and made it to the dark forest because I vaguely remember it, looking back at some play vids on youtube. Still that game was a bitch, even for old school games.

Man fuck you I've had that game for two years now TWO YEARS and I still haven't beaten him on Hard :( Although I have almost five-starred every song. I could probably do it if I didn't get frustrated so easily.

Anyway, the Boss Mode in Kirby 64 is kind of a pain in that if you want to unlock a hidden picture or something you have to do it without losing a SINGLE BAR OF HEALTH or else you fail and have to restart. Actually, any boss that's like that sucks.

Not even just bosses with this one. Unskippable cutscenes before difficult parts in games is Satan reincarnate.

You could take the pussy way out and glitch him to play on Easy and fail instantly.

Quote from: Clay Puffington;1731229I want to write an essay on No More Heroes. I am absolutely serious.

I've seen No More Heroes essays before, and it doesn't work out well. It's true there's a lot of stuff in the game that have double means our are meant to symbolize something, but there are also a lot of things that AREN'T, or are much more simple jokes than some others. This results in people picking apart every little thing and ascribing significance to random design choices that doesn't really mean anything and it makes the essay writer look like a douche.

For example a lot of people claimed that the shitty overworld in NMH1 was a mockery of terrible tacked on overworlds in other games. To me it's pretty obvious that it was just a poor design choice that they didn't have time to fix, or maybe they just didn't realize how bad it is. People also said the same exact thing about having to grind for money between fights. But seriously, that overworld was so bad...

In fact... even though it's not a boss, I'd like to add No More Heroes' terrible overworld map to the rage hate ITT.
