a couple of them okay, but the whole thing smacks of copying the surface elements of those non-mass-markety artsy covers that were floating around the internet a while back without understanding what actually made them appropriate and eye-catching.

It's a bad cover but I can understand it.

Its showing the ripples in the water like a cliche' scene in a movie where there is a loud booming noise like godzilla taking a step (in this case the colossus) the character will look at their coffee or water and see the ripples and be like "oh shit!".


And yeah, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why there is a collection of terrible game covers. Hmm.

Only some of them are okay. But they would be shit for marketing.

The rest are combinations of non-descriptive, low quality and lake of originality.
Hell, the Monkey Island covers are just zoomed in artwork with a blue filter.

The least shitty one is Bioshock, but it's kind of blunt. Flower and Another World are pretty nice (mostly because that's official game art from Another World with words thrown on it )

The ones near the top suck a lot less, though.
