Is it gone forever? Is there any chance of it being revived? Even without special things you can buy or a source if you just gave every user 1000 hearts and made user-to-user transfers possible that's all you'd need for an interesting little economy to blossom.

At the very least I hope the admins remember there was a plan to add them a while ago that just sort of faded away...
