Which version of Flash should I get?

I'm getting the opportunity to get flash in the not too distant future. I have a preference towards Flash 8, but because I know a grand total of fucking nothing about any other versions, I wanted to ask if there was a better choice or if it was a matter of taste as to which version you guys use.

get the newest version and flash 8. most people use flash 8 but I'm pretty sure the latest version of flash has some really good things added into it.

this is true. If you're looking to do really awesome drawings the newer features might help, but I'm not and I still use MX which is awesome. Hell I think grey still uses flash 5

What if one of the later versions is unstable on your pc? For example, I use MX coz all the adobe ones run really slow on my shit pc. Is that valid reason?

starting at cs4, they added 3d features which is kewl. action script 3 is a lot less user friendly but they still include 1 and 2, but as3 is more "programmer friendly". the only reason not to get a new ver. is if you already have an older one
