This is the game that brought a tear to my eye when it was announced 3 years ago. Needless to say I am fucking excited. I just wish it came with the map editor, I really want to see how powerful it is.

The game is fucking amazing. The tech tree progressions feel so natural somehow, and the game is more fast paced and fun. Blizzard made the game feel like an active game of chess. A lot of the players are noobs, though. I am on a 6 win streak right now, just using good old 2game strategy, and if I can't break into their base I just progress through the tree and counter them.

I can't wait to buy it and never ever play it online! The newer the Blizzard game, the less fun it is to play online. And they're apparently not even including LAN support, so I definitely won't be playing it with anyone else.

I believe so, it isn't terrible though. Obviously Blizzard balanced it out somehow. I have only used zerg twice, I have never liked them that much.

As for getting crushed, they have a system in place where it evaluates your playing level and deposits you in a league relative yo your skill level. The league I am in seems to produce good games.

That would be foolish. This is coming from a guy who played purely UMS games in both Starcraft and Warcraft 3. This game has been improved upon in pretty much every way.

I tend to agree with the gripe about LAN, but you must understand Blizzard excluded it to curb piracy of it's games. If Blizzard looses money because of pirates, it will hurt us in the form of paid subscriptions and ads.

OverLORDS aren't, but OverSEERS (upgraded Overlords) are. Apparetly Blizzard saw people using overlords as early game scouts, which didn't need much of the detection ability, and so decided to act on that.
