MonsterMunch

They better let you be a Qunari this time.

You don't get to choose race anymore. You will be a human, but this time your character actually talks so that's a good trade off imo.

Humans are freakin boring I'd rather be a Dwarf.

Quote from: KarkasmolenKlok;1780226I dunno, I often find my playing experience made far more enjoyable by the main character not talking all the bloody time. Like in WC3 being friggin' Maiev and having her proclaim "FOR JUSTICE!!!" or "I will finish the hunt!" every time you move her five feet. Half Life kind of showed that a main character often doesn't need to talk at all to be enjoyable to play. Games like Knights of the Old Republic, Monkey Island, and of course the original Dragon Age seemed to do just fine without the main character's voice being set.

Of course, it all comes down to the writing and voice acting. If the main character has enjoyable, well-written, and varied enough options, then having it voice acted can be good. Let's hope that's the case.
It will basically be like Mass Effect. Actually having the lines of your character voiced really adds a lot to the experience for me, and I was disappointed that the original Dragon Age didn't have this. The voice acting will obviously be nothing like WC3... or Dragon Age for that matter, because the original Dragon Age did have the "FOR JUSTICE!!!" type of voice acting. Every time I attack someone the character says something stupid.

Quote from: KarkasmolenKlok;1780226Also, I wonder if this will have anything to do with Morrigan's little god-fetus, which would kind of explain his ridiculous rip-baddies-in-half-with-giant-flaming-hands ability, the set race, and the involvement of Flemeth. Kind of hoping that is, because I like that twist on the storyline. If they do it right, that might not even be revealed right away.
Morrigan and MY little god baby! It takes 2 to make a god baby.

I really hope you get to play as the child, because I really want to know what happened to Morrigan and my baby.

I doubt that you really are the god baby though. You will probably be some random dude we haven't heard of till now.

Aka short chubby human, I guess it suits you then.
Elves are no better though, they're just thin and slightly smaller humans with pointy ears, and they can't even grow beards.

Also being anything but a magi was boring since all skills the warrior got were simply different ways of swinging a piece of metal and the rogue was basically a watered down warrior with the lock pick ability.
So yeah I hope they fix that up so I can pick the magi anyway.

NintendrCkolc

I'm still waiting to see gameplay!

Quote from: KarkasmolenKlok;1780253Boring and nerf. Seriously, fight loghain as a warrior, then fight him as a mage; one is a ten minute fight where you use up a ton of poultices and the other is a ten second fight where he doesn't touch you.

It was all about itemization, party balance, character interaction and story for me, the base abilities and all that were kind of eh, except obviously for mage. Even then, fights tend to get pretty cookie cutter.

Also, as a side note, Origins really overused the 'everyone is betraying you' thing.

Yeah playing as a warrior was challenging at times. I've made a mage now and from level 6 she's already been overpowered doing over 350 damage whereas my warrior at level 20 did like 80 damage if I got lucky...

I don't really care anyway, I didn't play the first one more than 2 hours. It was far too repetitive.

Also I'll bet I'm taller than you are IRL!

What in the world?

Well not repetitive so much as it was just too much like half the games already out there today. I might go back and try a mage though, it sounds kind of fun blasting guys with spells. Does it have a mana system or just spells with cooldowns?

It has both. So not only do you have to wait for your spells to cool down, you also have mana. Fighting as a mage is a lot faster than fighting with a warrior thanks to the incredibly unbalanced monster damage you do if you skill your character right.

I guess we get to find out what happened to Morrigan after all:
http://www.trueachievements.com/n1794/dragon-age-gets-to-witch-hunting.htm

QuoteThe ending of Dragon Age: Origins was certainly an interesting one, depending on which ending you got during your playthrough. But regardless of which ending you got, one thing was never clarified: what happened to Morrigan.

But, before I begin to spoil the game, I'll get on with why I'm speaking of Morrigan again. See, Bioware announced the latest batch of DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, entitled "Witch Hunt". It's named that because it'll have you tracking down Morrigan in an effort to find out what happened to her, and finally conclude the Origins storyline, so you can be ready for Dragon Age 2.

Set a year after the events of Origins, the adventure will take players on a journey alongside three new companions (one of which have been announced: Ariane) to finally find out what happened to Morrigan. The official site for the DLC (external link below) shows Morrigan in a new outfit, so that's something, right?

"Witch Hunt" hits the Marketplace this September 7th for 560 MSP. Here are some screenshots to satisfy your visual needs.

This is the only Dragon Age DLC that looks interesting enough for me to actually buy.

Also this is a better trailer IMO:

They explain things and holy shit does it make the trailer even more awesome. I know Sten talked about invading but I never expected the Qunari to actually do it.
