I like very much the freedom of form. It's more direct and expressive for it. And, whether intentional or not, I like the conflict of the warm and cold colours used. It lends the subject a further emotional depth beyond that of the somewhat tortured or fatigued looking face. The remnant of a nose, the blank eyes, and the missing mouth also go towards portraying a person who's perhaps weak, numb and unheard or ignored.
