 I have an inexplicable deficiency at 4400 which is probably due to the large amount of ear infections I had as a child, and as a musician my high range has already been beaten out of me from years sitting behind the percussion section.

it's allegedly only confirmed to have been used in that french rape flick with monica bellucci. it's difficult to detect reliably, because it's nearly inaudible, and usually is accompanied by other non-diegetic sound that makes it hard to... isolate the infrasound oscillations wow I seriously can't think of a less shitty way to phrase that.

so "I don't know, but probably not, if you're conscious of the sound" I guess is my answer to your question.

if you find yourself uneased or anxious during a movie whose content and themes don't really get under your skin, though, infrasound might be the culprit.
