Your post means nothing if you are just making shit up. I'm not going to explain to you why this is impossible.

Quote from: Thor;1826936The guys who programmed bitcoin probably personally own about 1/3 of all bitcoins. It's going to be hilarious when they sell all of their coins and gets rich off of autistic nerds, 420 stoner faggots, and the russian mafia.

Also, at this point the electric bill for running your computer is probably more than the currency is worth.

Didn't they already cash out?

Quote from: clammo;1827016why is it impossible? is the wallet file the first file in the history of computing that cant be hacked?

i dont see why its completely unreasonable to assume that people have hacked the bitcoin program, considering that literally every single thing gets hacked at some point, and especially with a new currency thats pretty valuable right now.

if the wallet is stored only on your computer, theres no system check to say if i have 10BTC or 1000BTC legit

You should go read up on what bitcoins actually are first. It's a complex system of maths. You can't just send people bitcoins which don't exist.

Biggskoo

how are bitcoins a complex mathematical system whatsoever

unless that was a joke then don't mind me

You program, right? Do you think they would ever do this?

I am not explaining bitcoins. Go look up stuff for yourself.

All of the bitcoins are stored on the network. The wallet file I mentioned contains only the keys to your wallet. So if you lose your hard drive before backing up your wallet somewhere, you are screwed.

Also, every transaction that happens on the network is sent to everyone else in the network in the next block. Meaning, no one can send the same coin twice or claim to have any more coins than they have.
HELLO EVERYONE.

On another note, i can't believe you guys made it this far without pointing out Joey's weight problem.

His wallet file will never be as fat as he is.

Quote from: clammo;1827035if someone breaks the key encryption, they could claim all the bitcoins that havent been distributed yet. or they could trick the system into thinking its a legitimate transaction from one account to another. or they could just send a trojan to people to steal their wallet.dat.

hackers can be really fucken smart and devious.

I'm not sure how the blocks are encrypted, but what you are describing sounds impossible. The hashes to find blocks get longer and longer, it's not like an xbox live code, which is static.

I agree hackers can be smart and assholes, yeah.
HELLO EVERYONE.

well yeah i gathered that

DigitalLemonClock

it's based on complex cryptography

read the wiki biggs because it's prtty complicated
BAN EVERYBODY

Slurpee

Quote from: Wouter;1827087it's based on complex cryptography
so what you're saying is I can hack it with the colossus mark 2

Sinister Clock

Quote from: clammo;1827096its still all based on a geometric ratio. which can be solved. somebody can literally figure out what the exact formula is and automatically generate perfect hashes

I think that's the point of mining bitcoins.

AstronautClock

if this is still existing a year from now I bet there will be programs out there for it to hack it. or just a person that has hacked it. If it keeps being valuable that is
