There may be some references to NG in clock movies, but I don't think lack of knowledge of those things would universally make them uninteresting. Most fiction references otherwise unknown worlds and situations, ours just happens to sometimes be based on something that really exists. I love the League and know fuck all about football.

Anyway when I found the CC I thought Newgrounds was Celebrity Slap and Club a Seal. I didn't even know about the portal.

Star Wars movies reference the force and most people don't deal with that on a daily basis either. I think if anything it might make it more intriguing by adding to the mystery of clock culture.

I've always been interested in having a consistent backstory and mythos to the Clock Crew because I think it has the possiblity of being really interesting and cool.

I think redditors are idiots for the most part (at least the ones I've come across in real life). This one kid and his silly friends at this pre-college program where I teach tried talking to me in some weird and dumb reddit secret code lingo thing just because I happened to have a forever alone shirt. Then the entire elevator ride consisted of them talking about reaaaaaaaaaaally old memes and other stupid things about the internet blah blah blah I'm just going into a tangent about this dumb kid.

ANYWAY, I don't know if redditors can really appreciate the Clock Crew. I feel like most of them are dumber than the typical NG user

EDIT: Did I mention they brought up All Your Base and quoted the whole thing whilst laughing uncontrollably?

I've never been on Reddit so I wouldn't know, but that sounds like a pretty hefty accusation.

That's pretty much reddit in a nutshell. They steal ancient content from other communities and make shitty original content themselves, and they beat jokes to death even though they weren't funny to start with. It's kinda like a PG-13 4chan, in that the people think they're hilarious and in some sort of secret club for the intellectually gifted.

Zen you sound like Europeans who meet one fat dude from Texas and decide all Americans are like that. Reddit is a huge site, it gets more traffic than Digg and has for over a year now. Small sites that get a link on the front page frequently get accidentally ddosed by the sheer number of users that view the site. The main subreddits are chock full of idiots and there are plenty of stupid people that read it, but some of the other subreddits are gold mines. Check out http://reddit.com/r/askscience to see what I mean. This is literally a panel of scientists that are there to explain things to you. It takes some filtering (which it's built for), but you can tailor an excellent front page if you take the time, and there are some truely incredible people on that site.

they are also incredibly fucking stupid but hey

EDIT: I have come to hate reddit because I have a ton of downtime at my job and reddit is the only thing to do there. It's so easy to appeal to the hivemind and karmawhore it really is pathetic. I'd say 2/3 of the users of reddit are pseudo-intellectuals.
