Quote from: FloundermanClock;1652465I remember reading some news story on IGN or something saying that the voice actors for Batman and Joker were "crappy amateur Ledger and Nolan imitators."  I was a very angry panda.

a) Steaming pile.
b) Why are you reading IGN?

Quote from: PEYOTE;1652281the arkham asylum book was written by grant morrison!

What I meant by "story" was the general background and characters of Frank Miller (poor wording on my part). Obviously the game is based on Morrison's plot.

Quote from: The Batman;1652276Haha, yeah, my favorite thing to do is string the guys up from the gargoyles. I do that to them one at a one until the other guys get scared and start firing at the sound of the boiler or just randomly at nothing. It's really cool that you can use fear to effect them like that.

The high I get from this game is so thrilling that it should be illegal.

Once I found you could lower yourself upside down from rafters and grab enemies from behind and above, I never stopped.

Also: I knew this game meant serious business when psychopaths started strapping guards to electric chairs or mercilessly filling them with bullets execution style for the fun of it.

Quote from: Rinoa Heartilly;1652173Please tell me it's the kind of game children wouldn't enjoy, and that it requires patience and thought to play.

If it is, i'm getting my hands on it no matter what, i enjoy games i can play requiring tactical thoughts but still have decent action.

When I first played through, I got overexcited and ran into the midst of some inmates, intending to beat the hell out of their demon faces.
Took about two or three shots and Batman was down. His body armor helps him withstand some of it, but he's still human.
If you don't think in this game, you'll die.

After only playing the demo, I declare this Game of the Year.

It's Splinter Cell mixed with Assassin's Creed but exponentially superior to both.

I'm having a fangasm over this game. They got everything right about Batman. With the style of the 90s animated series and Frank Miller's story and inspiration from the Arkham Asylum graphic novel, it's everything a fanboy could hope for.
They even got Mark Hamil and Kevin Conroy for the voicing.

My mind is blown. This is the most awesome game I've played in forever. I can't even write in proper English right now. I'm having a stroke here. Wow. Just wow.

Just remember though, nobody has ever been immediately clockified simply for making a great movie.

Quote from: MentosClock;1650693You get money from the ads that Newgrounds automatically puts on your userpage and on the flash pages (but not inside the actual flash).

No. No, I think there's been quite enough explaining done in this thread to no avail.

I was actually referring to game styles: tower defense, kitten toss, and scrolling brawlers.
NG users have an aneurysm whenever they encounter anything actually original. They like what they know and nothing more.

What you mentioned generally applies to movies.

Doesn't matter anyway. All you need to get insanely good scores on Newgrounds is a tired-out stale idea that's been done eight million times, tons of useless features that makes the kiddies giggle at the sight, lots of NG character cameos, and the approval of Tom Fulp.
It also has to be really easy, so the kids can feel like they're doing really well.

Hope that helps.

As much as I love your stuff, Roman, I am so sick of throwing games... Come on, you're more original than this.

Quote from: Sinister On Fire Clock;1648427How the FUCK is eCPM counted? I would've thought it should be the same for everybody.

The effective cost per thousand impressions is really of no concern to you guys. It's the way investors and providers can measure the ratio of clicks to views on a certain page in order to evaluate the success of certain ads or the pages they're displayed upon.
Rob's one animation has only 77 views but has earned $1.13 from clicks (really all the ad companies pay toward).
His other may have three times as many views at 257, but the ads have proved far less successful on that page, generating revenue of only $0.04.
Therefore the former movie has a higher eCPM than the latter. For Tom Fulp, the provider, this is a good thing. This movie is earning much more money than another movie of exponentially superior popularity (relatively, of course, we're dealing in the lower numbers here). For the investor, it may have mixed implications.
To you, the content creator, this means nothing really. You really have very little control over it in the grand scheme of things. Not like you craft your movie to inspire people to click on the ads displayed around it.
It's nothing to do with unfairness or favoritism.

Clicks are what earn money.
Views (impressions) really don't matter (aside from in consideration of the click:view ratio).

I may be an advertising major, but this stuff is obvious, guys.
