Humility is way over rated.

it was simply a matter of time before you found out, also, the whole devil thing, thats just me after some tequila shots and way too much rum, but i didnt want to take credit for the whole, you know, evil in the world, senseless violence, death, murder and pain that await you poor unfortunate sentient beings, the earth keeps spinning, and death is only the begginning. You all believed me when i told you it was someone else plaguing your lives with all the ills that befoul your small, insignificant lives, even the largest among you turn to dust, and are eventually, forgotten. Fortunately your myopic thinking has lead you all to believe that without constant worship and praise, i would somehow judge you as an unworthy creation and cast you into a lake of fire to burn, and scream, and bleed, in agony day after day for all eternity, oh and i love you.

I find this to be a most interesting set of paradoxes that can only be explained by the fact that you are all completely in the dark as to the true nature of the universe and myself. The mere fact that you use the word faith to describe your divine musings is a perfect example of not only how completely in the dark you actually are, but how easily you're lead, and myopic your thinking. Let me ask you a question. If i did create you in my image, then i obviously gave you some of the most useful traits one could bestow upon a lesser being, such as logic, and reasoning, then why is it you must surrender both to obtain faith? Shouldnt the fact that you have these higher functioninging parts of yourself tell you that these are the gifts you should be using instead of squandering away and ignoring. Life wasnt meant to be easy, or even necessarily pleasant, but its necessary if you ever wish to gain a larger perspective, to become more than your limited selves. To express godliness, as opposed to worshipping a comforting, deleterious myth? All your stories do is inscribe in your mind a sense of false purpose, behavior control, and societal control, they add nothing. They arent meant to make you create, theyre made for you to obey. Obey, not true godliness but men who lust for power and control, who would make you sheep and themselves your herdsman, in my name.

At some point some of you will mature, come to terms with your eventual death, your limited perspective, and the nature of beauty, pain, and creation as well as destruction. Until that day you will be stuck in a line following the person in front of you and leading the one behind you, off a cliff that you have no idea is slowly coming toward you with every step, and when you do take that plunge you will find yourself alone and confused, falling into the most extravagant experience of your sad, beautiful lives. What comes next, i do not know and is not meant to be known. And like that i am human again.

Good night.

Pain and suffering await you through out the rest of your miserable, short life, and one day everyone you know and love is going to die.

Marijuana is a gateway drug that has destroyed countless lives and driven countless people to insanity, anyone who smokes it should be dragged into the streets and shot in the fucking face.

I resent all of you making light of such a serious situation, you all need to take a hard look in the mirror.

Quote from: Golden Clock;1679682It's easy for young people to look ahead and think 'i'm going to die before i get old', because they haven't got as much to anchor them to life yet.
Perhaps if im still with my wife or close to my children, this would be true, but for many ive seen, its not. Trust me, if i have something to live for im not going to opt out so soon, but when i never see my kids, im incontinent, in constant pain, and the only conversations i have are with the people who bring me my food, its time to opt out.

Quote from: PropagandaClock;1679656You do realise why Japan has the highest life expectancy in the world right?
Because they take care of their Elderly.

If we can't find a purpose to their existance how do you expect them to?
What exactly entails taking care of them? And what do you say to the ones no longer living in reality? the cripples? the incontinent? the blind?

I would agree these people would be much better off living with family but for many they find the responsibility of raising kids, working careers, and taking care of their rapidly deteriorating parents or grand parents too much, so they take they take grandpa's money and stick him in a home, its pretty depressing, and i wouldnt wish that fate on my worse enemy. Most worked their entire lives and are now unable to, so they find themselves in the home, they need purpose and we try to accomodate, but there is only so much you can do, except be compassionate. The lucky find a hobby, a few play music, a few garden, some drink, but their lives are not as nearly as full as they once were.

Quote from: Thor;1679648that's brutal
Yeah, thats why ive already decided to kill myself before i get to that point, and i dont worry too much about cancer or other late life health detriments i might encounter, because their are worse things than dying a painful death by cancer. You could end up living a miserable existence the last 20 years of your life with everyone you love dying off and wondering when that specter of death is going to come for you, constantly around the corner, but never certain.

I remember one lady who would relive the death of her husband everyday, she would run up to someone and start screaming and crying that her husband was just taken to the hospital and that she needed to get there right away, if you werent familiar with this person it could be quite alarming. I guess the story is that 30 years ago her husband had a heart attack while she was at work and died in the hospital before she could make it there to say good bye to him, this haunted her the rest of her life, and when her alzheimers progressed 10 years ago she began reliving the experience that so haunted her, this is true for many of the alzheimers patients, they relive parts of their past that had some emotional significance to them, completely unaware of reality around them, sometimes theyre pleasent experiences, but this person was obviously very haunted by her experience, and relived it, everyday.

Quote from: Thor;1679642idk like 70. I didn't really know her that well though.

My aunt also died of lung cancer from cigs at the same exact time (like a week apart) but I didn't know her that well either.

I don't get that bent out of shape about death.
thats pretty much the perfect age to kick it.

I quit working at a retirment community not too long ago (waiter/server) and it was quite the miserable/depressing/eye opening experience. I remember on valentines day (as terrible day for most of them, being most of their life partners are dead) i saw one of my regulars looking around confused by himself, i asked him what he needed, he looked up at me and paused, and then he said "A new life, can you give me that? i have nothing left"

It caught me totally off guard and i avoided him the rest of the night not knowing what to say but its true for most of them. They spend the last decade or more of their lives incontinent, confused, in pain, most cant walk, half over 80 have alzheimers, another quarter get bouts of dementia, most are alone, and depressed. For all intensive purposes their lives have no purpose, so they wallow in their own misery and purposelessness, with only death to look forward to, in their own shit, piss, and delusions.
