Sonic's become more like a cocky asshole recently.  Before, he was just cocky on some occasions, but now he's an asshole too.

Ivo Julian Robotnik. That's his full name in the comics. I grew up reading those and playing the sega genesis and that's his name. Eggman is just what they call him in japan because they're unimaginative. (just look at the names for pokemon, umbreon is called "blacky", what the hell)
