They're mining him for whatever popularity he achieved on the internet. It doesn't mean his music is good. He's famous because people are laughing at him, not with him.

Being "famous" as a musician is about selling records, winning awards, having fans or acknowledgement outside of the internet and making music that's actually enjoyable to listen to as something other than a joke, in my opinion.
