When did they do this before, and how will they do it in the future? Walt never transferred his Copyright, and being as there was no Disney before him I doubt there has been a precedent. Honestly, when it comes right down to it, the whole process already failed. As soon as Disney looses it, they'll just re copyright it real quick, or some other bitch will make money off of it for another 50 years. Nothing really re-enters the public domain.
