It's basically like dropping the volume to 0 instantly by pushing the button. Guitar n00bs use it to sound like Buckethead so they can play Jordan ^w^d

Actually it's pretty fun, with a good blend of effects you can create really interesting sounds.

The only good reason I see to take off the tone knobs are to make your instrument louder (the knobs are electric parasites).

When you put your hand over the strings, it stops them vibrating, and then it doesn't make any sound.

I didn't take out my tone. I just drilled another hole right under my tone and i fitted the killswitch there.

That was a while ago, now i have a smaller killswitch.
