Two words: Nude Art

It will boost you in how the body should be proportioned (obviously) and to have shapes going. Try watching porn or looking at references, it will help

what this man said, find some pictures of naked bitches and draw them, over and over and over again. they'll probably look bad at first but before too long the human form will begin to burn into your brain.
if you really wanted a guide you could buy a "how to: human anatomy" art book or something.

Definately as the two above me said-start drawing naked people. It makes it easier later on, that's how a lot of artists go at it. Naked people, THEN the clothes if any at all. But start with naked people. Both genders.

Just do anime, all the realism is removed to cut corners!
You can come up with pretty awesome sketches in a quicker time if you're impatient like me
