I've recently discovered the wonders of VLC Media Player, so I'm using that for all of my video since it basically has every codec known to man and probably some which haven't been invented yet.  Only problem is that it looks extremely plain.  I guess that's also a good thing though, because most of Winamp's default skins are very ugly.

I'm using Winamp for music (fuck iTunes, ugly + money), don't really know why but it seems better for music for some reason.

I'm not liking WMP11 because it basically has no features whatsoever, and black doesn't mix so well with my sexy blue XP skin.

PirateClock

i just use windows media player. it neat how it makes its own play lists by searching your pc for music, plus it has that msn feature so my friends can see what a pretentious cock i am.

there are skins for vlc i'm pretty sure, mind you it's look doesn't really matter since it's usually just used for full screen video.

i also use winamp for music but i really just chuck everything on my ipod, god bless it.

TequilaClock

I like to use Winamp because I have been using it since it released.

Slash

Windows media player is nicer, but vlc has some functions that wmp lacks, so unless I require those functions I use wmp

Wind-up Clock

I use Media Player Classic and the CCCP Codec pack.

VLC is nice too though.

I use VLC pretty much exclusively,  though BS Player is pretty nice too if you're on Windows.

you've been using winamp since you were 6?

It's possible. I started playing on a computer regularly at about 7-8. Didn't start internetting until around 11 though.

My little sister is way ahead of me. She's only 9 and she's already on youtube all day.

I actually did, my sisters introduced me into it and they are 4 and a half older.

EDIT: Speaking if which, they introduced me to it like at the same time as Napster and mIRC. I remember downloading a lot of toon audio clips like Powerpuff Girls and Bugs Bunny, they were mad at me lol. I remember dial-up and how to get on CartoonNetwork.com without waking my parents on the horrible sound it did was impossible.

Ahhhhhh old internet.

HorseChestnutClock

I use mainly Windows Media Player for music and video, but if I watch something the requires a specific codec, I'll use Media Player Classic.

FluxCapacitorClock

The only thing that annoys me about VLC is that it doesn't seem to want to remember that I'd like to use a skin I downloaded. The default one shows up whenever I open it.

BoltClock

Quote from: FloppyDisk Clock;1383780I use VLC as my video player.
Itunes as my main music library(full albums) and Winamp for miscellaneous pieces of audio and single songs.

Floppy pretty much summed it up for me too.

There's a Winamp plugin that offers that MSN feature. It's how I hit Winamp up good.

Solenoidclock

VLC for everything, with Media Player Classic + CCCP as a Plan B for buggy movies.

BoltClock

If only my damn iPod would just cooperate with Winamp and Rhythmbox...

Fuck Apple and their marketing tricks :(

I use iTunes for music mainly and I still can't agree with you there.

HeinekenClock

I use VLC for movies only, and it's perfect for that. It plays everything, it plays without lagging (Looking at you, WMP), and unlike Nero Showtime (which I used to use) it pauses immediatly when you hit the spacebar instead of ten seconds later.

super0sonic

Media Player Classic is all you need really. After trying Media Player Classic i now hate VLC.
