I haven't read JDatE in two years, and I never quite got around to the sequel, which I'll probably have to get around to pretty soon. Whatever it is, I suppose I'm excited.

For the uninitiated, John Dies at the End is a horror story on the internet. It was originally published, page by page, years ago in the month of October, on pointlesswasteoftime.com and gained such massive popularity by word of mouth that a publishing company picked it up for production as a paperback (secondhand copies of which are now apparently going for $75 USD) and the director of Bubba Ho-tep is going to make a movie adaptation (maybe that's what this whole thing is about?)

The next six days are your "last chance" to READ THE STORY, which has previously been described as "like being run over by a truck made of horror, hauling four tons of stupid."

Read the original story, if you haven't yet. Just do it, it's fucking fantastic.
If you can't find the time, copy and paste the entire thing into a text file and save it, because apparently it's going to disappear on the 30th.

I love this book. While reading it I painted the meatmonster, smeared the canvas with rancid fat, and poured plastic over it to make a JDATE dinner tray.

I've recommended it to so many people too. I'll need to copy it over to a text file if I ever want them to get around to reading it.

I read the first couple pages a few weeks ago, it's hard for me to read books as pdfs or web pages. I wanted to buy it and then I noticed the ridiculous price tag, maybe they're planning on publishing it again?

I have the same problem. I had a 300 page print card at my school's computer lab, so I copy+pasted most of it into Word, shrunk the font, and printed most of it out 2 pages per paper and read it that way.

The print copies were, I think, originally only $10, but Amazon fucked up the list price, and it had kind of a ripple effect. You can usually get a new copy on Ebay for about 20 bucks, but I don't know if the book will go into a second printing. They said it wouldn't, but who knows?
