I would walk away from it, neither destroying it or sharing it; keep it to myself, and let others find it on their own if they want to.

This is just the kind of ominous thing that the really wise old bearded guy says at the closing of the final scene just before the fade to black.

LOL

GearBoxClock

Quote from: SilverCherryClock;1425375I can see the rationale behind destroying it, but ending centuries of widespread delusion would tip the scale

Loki Clock

Quote from: Cloaked;1425864Like if we would find the remains of Jesus like in the movie "The Body" with Antonio Banderas which proves that he was never lifted to heaven, that kind of discovery would shatter the christian world.

No it wouldn't.

patriotclock

There is no way you could find any proof that a God doesnt exist maltese so this is a pretty dumb question but if by some chance there was proof and i was the only one who had it I guess I would tell people but not go out of my way to piss everyone off because really who gives a shit.

patriotclock

Quote from: Maltese;1425373when I asked marlin, and patriot, they both refused to answer.

thank you for answering. :D

No I didnt, I answered in irc

Logs to prove it

01[20:34] how could you find proof there is no God that would be impossible to do
01[20:34] dumb question by maltese
01[20:34] not surprising
[20:34] <@CadillacClock> well
[20:34] it's hypothetical
[20:34] suspend your disbelief for a second
[20:34] <@CadillacClock> technically, you could find evidence contradictory towards all religion and by association, God
[20:35] <@CadillacClock> By all religion I mean Allah, Moses, and Jesus
[20:35] <@CadillacClock> The only REAL religions
[20:35] would you hide it, or spread it, I'm not asking you to believe that there is evidence that god doesn't exist, I'm asking you to think about the connontations if such evidence did exist
01[20:37] if there was proof i guess i would spread it not that id care but eitherway it would impossible to disprove

Why you would feel the need to lie to somehow make people who follow a religion look the way you want them to look is beyond me. But imo you just look like a huge douche

Maltese always looks like a huge douche on the religion topic. That's why I had to apply a parallel dimension to determine what would actually be the best answer to one of his questions and by doing so proved that he doesn't want people to think freely, he wants them to think his way.

Maltese Free Thinking - Rejecting the notion that there could be anything but Earth entirely.

Real Free Thinking - Acknowledging that absolutely anything is possible and going out of your way to contradict even your most conclusive evidence, regardless of what you want the conclusion to be.

I can't vote in the poll because my answer is that it's best to share it but then destroy it in a non physical sense by finding a way to cast doubt on it.

FlashlightClock

I'd share it, even if God doesnt excist that doesnt mean there isnt anything after life.
Without religion holy wars (hopefully) disappear, and you dont need a specefic relegion to want to live. plenty of atheists live a happy life without the believe of a higher power.

Crusades and holy wars are usually waged over holy land and proof against God isn't going to do shit to the value of land.

FlashlightClock

Quote from: Flux;1426690Crusades and holy wars are usually waged over holy land and proof against God isn't going to do shit to the value of land.
the land being holy by the word of a book of a (if proven) non excisting god.
if the relegion is proven false the land is no longer concidered holy thus the only value would be the recources etc.
so it wouldnt be a holy war, it'd be a regular war.
land will always be valuable yes but at least people wont die for a piece of useless land thats only valuable to the relegious

shit for brains

Quote from: Blackmagic;1426041No it wouldn't.

Christianity is based upon the idea that Jesus went to heaven and he will return in the second coming

i have to say i agree with most of what he says.

at least on this matter, son

well, i would not destroy it, unless its a maybe harmfull for the people secret, i mean if it was good, or could help make people better, and not lose any love, or suddenly get not ethic about life.. i guess i would share the ide bit

He told me in IRC if we don't eat people it is a waste of meat.

That is when I realized he was brain dead.

Did you mean to imply that Maltese is a zombie?

This would explain the comments on people eating.

And somehow you are fit to decide what knowledge is "good" and what knowledge is "bad"?

PropagandaClock

share it

people would panic at first
but in the end the thought of mortal coil would accelerate us into making life extending machinery etc. so in the end we would achive immortality faster that way aswell and sceintific advances.

wow, you completely misinterpreted what I meant, by free thinking, I meant drawing your own conclusions instead of just listening to what others tell you.

how come every time you guys fight against me, it's because you have no idea what I mean.

also the cannibal thing was a joke, you guys are gullible
