i've only played it a little so far but it is great, still getting use to some of the changes though, locust now move significantly slower than the cog, shotgun doesn't fire as rapidly, downed players take more to kill than before etc.

i've only played multiplayer with a friend and bots since my internet is dead but it's radical, the maps are huge and there are lots more players, also bullets now leave much more significant trails and will ricochet off certain objects, also all the enviroments are slightly destructible.

i've also played horde mode which is lots of fun but gets hard on like wave 4, still really cool, some new locusts that are mad badass, yes i'm talking about butchers and scorchers.

anyway get this game and we'll play in a week or two when i get my internet back.

Mine is being delivered today, and my special edition lancer replica on Monday. Yay!

I'll probably be hitting co-op before multiplayer, though. Maybe some single player if Ron doesn't get his copy today.

Well, I really didn't like GoW 1. It was too tight, dark, gloomy, rainy and muddled for me. It was mostly cover, pop up and shoot and back down and it kinda got boring quick. Multiplayer was what I just said but 5 times better, yet it still didn't appeal to me I guess. Everything was too tight and fast and I couldn't bother.

However this seems to be on a larger and epic-er scale which I like. It's more bright and the destructible environments always pull me in. I'm glad multi is a few players bigger but it looks mostly the same, including the maps. Horde mode sure looks amazing though.

Should I really bother if I didn't like GoW 1 much, at all?

I only just started playing the first one today.

played it last night and all day today.. Pretty satisfied. However their are problems... such as the chainsaw not dropping when u shoot a person who raises it... Also matchmaking is EXTREMELY slow and u cant exactly play what you wanted like in the first..


Ultimately is it better then the first? Im really not sure.. It feels better and the campaign is lightyears better.. The MP tho... I think GOW1 had a better setup... :/

Yesterday I played Horde mode for 7 hours nonstop. It's fucking AMAZING.

I loved gears one, but this is just... Spectacular. Really, I'm speechless.

Speaking of those little shining pieces of heaven, I haven't been able to find any in single player. I know they're still in the game, but I haven't seen any. I don't like looking at FAQs before I beat a game, though.

I know there are a few collectibles, I've found like 10, but most are like newspapers, photos, tapes and shit like that.

I am pissed about ONE thing though. I had no room on my harddrive when downloading the flashback map pack from my code, so i cancelled the download to clear some room. Now when I re-enter the code, it says the code isn't valid.

Fuck.

I just played gears 2 horde with a friend. Got to level 18 on normal. God damn that shit is fucking impossible. If you beat all 50 levels(at least on normal, not easy) I will buy you a beer.

Did you go to previous downloads and try to re-download? I had a similar problem with downloading the gold lancer and that is supposedly a valid fix from what I've read. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, though.
